THE CHRISTMAS WRAP ***
With Almost a month behind schedule I introduce you ...
THE CHRISTMAS WINTER COAT
After a month of rough seams this coat has got into verea and I enjoyed it enormously. Once I got desagobirme unable to finish it for Christmas I decided to take my time and sew it without cheating. I tell you the making of:
***
Far Beyond 'm happy with this coat for my Daughters little for Various Reasons:
It's my first ever coat
I Have Enjoyed Every single stitch (except pulling out basting threads, Which I absolutely hate)
I've made my first pair of welted pockets with
Satisfactory results
It's cozy, it fits and it's network
Pattern: Burda Style Magazine
147 Mod Cloth: The exterior is cloth of wool and the lining viyela. 3euros double meter wide. Buttons
"borrowed" from a denim jacket. ***
Pattern: Girl's coat Mod 147 by Burda Style magazine 11/2010
Fabrics: Light wool for the outside Viyella for the lining and
Buttons: "On loan" from an old jacket.
The buttons are decorative because the pressure leads. The round neck leads interfacing with the top face, as I had read some books, but my mother says it best on the bottom and the Burda instructions so indicate. I still I have no opinion on the subject, or an eye as fine as to see the difference, really. I care so much was to ironing the neck to make it perfectly round and not multifaceted. Sewed it with small stitches and slowly, I cut the bottom seam more than just superior not mark the line outside, I did picket and press the seam open with great patience and my super necks ironing tool: the rolling pin. While still hot I turned around his neck and gave him a finger. The operation took me all night session but he was right the first time. ***
I Took my time to construct the collar Properly, as I Was Determined to get it right first time. I machine stitched it slowly around the curve, graded and clipped the seam Allowance Them pressed open and turn it over while still warm so That I Could shape it with my fingers. Final press and it look great. The one thing That got me thinking Was the face of the collar the interfacing to Which Should Be Applied to. The instructions' Said to the bottom part But I Applied it to the upper collar. Why? Not sure.
would saltármelos pockets as usual, but changed my mind and I just had my daughters poque need to put their treasures in a place that is not my bag. ***
I Was going to skip the making of the pockets but I'm glad I did not. My girls Need pockets to keep all her little Findings
The lining is hand sewn to the views and hem. I have not been very clear what is the best way to ride but the result is good. By the way, the label has my name and is a gift Anette. ***
The lining is sewn by hand. Probably Not The Smartest way buy I Could not come up with anything better. The label is a special present by Anette .
And look what couture detail haa me out at the seam holster! Are perfectly well aligned, and not by chance, is that I get obsessed with those details and I dedicate her time. And changing the subject, my mysterious follower Alberto G, (I'm pretty sure has not come down here reading) says he does not understand that to teach each other the things we do. I tell him not to tell me how beautiful it is, for that I have my mother, but because your comments learn new techniques, tricks etc.. but I recognize that your observation got me blogging crisis. So why not give it to you throw a couple of issues of global concern:
What part of the neck is set interfacing?
What sets with steam or dry?

*** This last photo shows how I managed to line up the side seams. It'sa bit silly to show this off But, hey, I'm still learning and details like this are my humble take Into the couture world.
